Printing Technology Presentation at GDPA - Bhavnagar


Hi Everyone,


On 17th April, 2011, Annul meeting of Graphic Designers and Printers Association-Bhavnagar held at Bhavnagar, GACS represents as a special guest to give presentation on "Diploma in Printing Technology" syllabus to all the members.

Event started with Lamp Lightening by President Mr. Harish Bhatt and all the committee members.








Just after that President Mr. Harish Bhatt welcomed all the member of GDPA and Mr. Sunilbhai Ambasana and Mr. Pankajbhai Paun from GACS-Rajkot.

The main agenda of meeting was to show account of year 2010-2011 to all the members.

Mr. Harish Bhatt introduced Mr. Sunil and Mr. Pankaj and gave brief details about activities of Gujarat Academy of Creative Studies to all of their members, abd asked to start presentation.











Brief introduction of "Diploma in Printing Technology" course presented by Mr. Pankaj with the help of Slide Show.
Mr. Pankaj also invited all the members to attend 3 days "Printing Technology Workshop for Designers and Printers" held on 30th April, 1st & 2nd of May-2011 at GACS - Rajkot. Also added that this workshop is arranged by GACS to aware designers and printers about the new software technology and other updates of Printing technology.

All the members were very happy to get such a nice information.
A question/answer round was there to help all the members to know more about new techniques of screen printing with UV Ink and also lots of questions were there regarding Adobe InDesign software. Everybody was very happy that they got very important information.


With the help of presentation GACS passed complete information about their innovative course of Printing Technology.

Printing Technology Workshop

As you all know Gujarat Academy of Creative Studies arrange a 3 days Workshop for Printers and Designers.

Only designers and printers are allowed to join this workshop.

Color Creation
Color Selection
Color Correction
Color Harmony
Practical with samples of Saree, Dresses, and Tiles.












Offset Printing Theory session: 1 hour - by Mr. Sunil Ambasana

Gujarat Academy thankful to all their supporters and participants of
"Diploma in Printing Technology
" LIVE DEMONSTRATION

It was a huge successful event and many people got very important information about the Printing Technology.

Gujarat Academy of Creative Studies – Live Demonstration – on 10th of April 2010 reaffirmed the inherent value of the Printing Technology Education and achieved overwhelming recognition with a high score. It was first Demo of its kind, till the date no such activities has been ever held in Gujarat-Saurashtra region. The concept has been welcomed and supported by Industry leaders and Associations like Rajkot Commercial Printers Association, Graphics Designers and Printers Association (GDPA) Bhavnagar and Jamnagar Printers Association.

More than 700 people visited from surrounding area of Saurashtra and got the information about completely new concept of educating people for Printing Technology.

In the morning session Mr. Sunil Ambasana – Chair person of GACS welcomed Mayor of Rajkot Shree Janakbhai Kotak, President of Greater Rajkot Chamber of Commerce and Industries Mr. Dhansukh Vora and Members of Rajkot Commercial Printers Association.
Mayor Shree Janakbhai Kotak said that “It is a great pleasure for me to witness such a great event of GACS for the people of Rajkot, it is our proud that such academic work started in Rajkot. My best wishes are always with GACS and I will definitely try my best to provide recognition to “Diploma in Printing Technology” course by Gujarat Government as early as possible.”  He also appealed all the people to pass this information and awareness as much as possible.”


Mr. Dhansukh Vora commented “If your product is good but your brochure or printed material is not attractive than your product will not work in market. Mr. Vora reminded us about Mr. Sureshbhai Ambasana – legend of Gujarat Printers and father of Mr. Sunil Ambasana and added that “In 1975 when there was no scope for better printing in our region, Sureshbhai started Gujarat Printers and provided their valuable services, which helped our Engineering Industry a lot to grow.” He also added that “In current scenario of Printing Industry it is very difficult to find trained people, I am thankful to Ambasana family that they thought to start such an academy which will provide 100% professional and practical training to the people as this was a dream of Mr. Suresh Ambasana. 

Mr. Narendra Parmar publisher of “Printing Samachar” magazine and proprietor, Raj Publications, formally welcomed all and explained requirement of such academy in Printing Industry also provided awareness to all the visitors about Demonstration details and asked them to share such awareness about education of Printing Technology with all who did not visited this demo. They also committed that I am always with GACS and will help to flow awareness of this academy through Printing Samachar. He was with GACS throughout the process.

Mr. Jignesh Lapasiya – Marketing Head of “Screen Print India”- A Premier Magazine in Screen Printing - Mumbai, appreciated efforts of GACS for educating people and said “We will also be helpful to such Printing Technology Academy all the way. Our best wishes are always with GACS.”  Mr. Devang Sheth, proprietor and editor of “Screen Print India” magazine also sent best wishes and regretted that due to exhibition held in China he was not able to present on this event.


After inaugural activity everybody moved to Demonstration place and visited each and every stall and an exclusive “Print Gallery” – sizing 23’ x 10’ was setup with varied printing samples such as Corrugated Cartons, Duplex Boxes, Stationary, Pamphlets, Brochures, Flyers, Foam and Flex Banners, Paper cups, Lenticular Screens, Multicolour Printed CDs, Books, Magazines etc. 

The purpose of establish this gallery was to make people aware about the maximum output and opportunities in Printing Industry. The purpose of this print gallery was briefly explained by Creative Head of GACS - Mr. Vishal Ambasana on various techniques like - Colour Correction, Foiling, Packaging Designs, technical aspects of Foam and Flex Banners and the importance of basic tools applied in the designing part of various products.


 
A brief explanation of the course and opportunities after completing the course was explained by GACS Head of Department Mr. Pankaj Paun. Educational methodology of the Diploma course is divided in three semesters:
Pre-Press: During this semester student will learn about Creative Computerized Designing, Layout, Color Correction, Book-work, News Paper and other Desk Top Publishing techniques. Also about different kinds of output like Butter Paper, Positive and Films, after that they will learn how to produce Positives and CTP Plates. This session also include awareness about Paper and other substrates which are used in Printing Process. During this semester students will visit different agencies, Pre-press production houses, and News Paper and Magazine publications house to view exact production process.

Press: 2nd semester is for Press Processes, where we teach Screen Printing, Offset Printing, Flexo, Gravure and Digital Printing Processes with advantages and disadvantages and possibilities. After this semester student become aware of every printing process, so he will be able to decide which job will print better, faster and cheaper in which process. Here academy not assuring that student became a perfect operator of any printing machine, obviously for that he has to join special course for any of the process for 6 more months. During this semester students will visit biggest presses of Saurashtra and Gujarat region and can be witness of each and every process. This will make them more confident while they prepare designs and also can talk to client with confidence, they will be able to take mature decisions.
Post-Press: 3rd semester is for learning about finishing of product, like Cutting, Folding, Binding, Lamination (Coating). We also teach them about Calendar making, Note-book making etc. Here they visit Note-book manufacturing units, Lamination Unit and other binding units to see complete process.
To acquire knowledge of each and every process GACS has in-house Ultra modern Studio with latest computer equipments, like scanner, printer and cameras. GACS developed a workshop for practical training of Offset, Screen Printing and binding. Students can become more powerful when they operate each and every machine during the course.
After education period of 6 months if student wish to go for internship for his most liked process, GACS will arrange that part too, where he can get actual jobs to process. After the course GACS provides guarantee of recruitment. Teaching method will be Audio/Visual, 10 students per batch in an A/c. classroom.
More than 20 industrial visits will be provided during the course, also 13-15 visiting lecturers will impart their professional expertise during the course to explain real situation of market and will share their experience and knowledge with students. Our core value would be to hone the technical skills of students and make them aware of new technologies.

Stall holders Target Sign Tech Pvt. Ltd. – Ahmedabad. – Mr. Parag Dalal, presented various printing machine like Sublimation / Transfer printing on T-Shirt, Mug and other gift articles, Mitsubishi Digital Photo Printing and I-card making machines. They had  a team of 4 engineers with them to give brief information about their products which was the main beneficial point for the people.





GACS also presented live Screen Printing with UV ink and UV curing, this demo was very much interested for current printers and designers, everybody appreciated that GACS make it possible to view such a new technology with complete information.


Mr. Narendra Parmar had a stall for Printing Samachar – First ever Gujarati Magazine of Printing Industry – provided brief details about their magazine and insisted people to read more and more about Printing Industry.

Another premier magazine in Screen Printing - Screen Print India – Mumbai had a stall for their magazine and distributed Free magazines.

Speedpeq – Print Management Software was presented by Param Software Technologies – Mr. Vinod Nawab to give the management tools and techniques applied in printing industry. They provided valuable information regarding management and costing of the jobs.
