2nd Successful PRINTING WORKSHOP

Second Successful PRINTING WORKSHOP by GACS

Hi,

Gujarat Academy of Creative Studies very much pleased to announce Success of 2nd PRINTING WORKSHOP in Saurashtra region.

2nd April to 4th April. GACS arranged Printing Workshop for Designers and Printers, so many people from overall Gujarat took part in it, and feel that they got very important information and guidance from GACS about current printing scenario and new technology updates.

During this workshop following main topics were discussed.

1st Day: Morning session:

After welcome all the participants, Mr. Pankaj Paun provided brief introduction about their 6 months course "Diploma in Printing Technology" process.

First topic was about "Creative Designing" and Software update for designers.

Adobe Package:

Use of InDesign for Publication and other Design creation like: Stationery, Brochures and Magazines.

How to start creating multicolor designing with In Design.

Rules to follow while creating multicolor designs.

What care should be taken while creating multicolor designs.

All the facilities of Adobe InDesign thoroughly described through slide presentation.

---- Lunch Break ---- 

In afternoon session:

All the participants have visited UV Coating and Lamination unit. Where they have seen all the machines for UV coating,

UV curing and Thermal Lamination. Description of machine and it's facilities described by Mr. Pankaj Paun. They also checked samples of brochures, files and other materials. With the help of this visit they came to know about use of lamination and it's important in printing process, also they noticed so many things which they need to take care while creating designs and printing any job.

After that all the participants have visited biggest Roto Gravure Printing unit of Rajkot - "Rototon Poly Pack Pvt. Ltd." to view Roto Gravure Printing Process. Mr. Chirag had welcome all the members and provided very important information about each and every machines and it's process. Here they are printing Polyester material used for packaging of lots of food products, like Wafers, Khakhara, Sea Food and other.

Participants got lots of tips for preparing designs for such jobs and the whole process of printing, it's timing, and costing.

Everybody enjoyed such a nice and informative visit.

2nd Day: Morning session:

In theory session a presentation given on CMYK Offset Printing technic by Mr. Sunil Ambasana and Mr. Kamlesh of Gallantic Print Machines Pvt. Ltd.

They both describe whole offset printing process thoroughly and also provided lots of tips about things which require to take care while design a multicolor job.

Mr. Kamlesh also provided information about costing of an offset printed job. Which was very helpful for all participants.

In afternoon session:

Participants have visited Offset Printing Unit at Metoda to see live demo on 28"x40" Mitsubishi CPC Offset Printing Machine.

Here they checked lots of different kinds of offset printed material like Foam Banners, Cloth Bags, Non-Tearable Material, Plastic sheets. Participants said that they never thought that we can print such materials with offset printing process and they all were very impressed.

On the same day at Gujarat Printers - a live demo on 19"x26" Komori CPC Offset Machine was arranged. During this demo Mr. Sunil explained each and every operations of offset printing like: Plate making, plate punching, plate mounting, registration checking etc.

3rd Day:

On third day session was taken by Mr. Vishal Ambasana about main part of design creation - Color Theory.

In this session he described about use of Photoshop tools for how to create colors, how to select colors, and color correction in photographs. This session was very much informative and funny because everybody have to answer some question about color and it was very much helpful to them to learn color theory.

On last day each participant was awarded by Certificate of Training and some useful material also provided by GACS.
