3rd Printing Technology Workshop by GACS

Fabulous Success

GACS - very much pleased to announce that we got fabulous response to our 3rd Printing Technology workshop during 4 to 6 June-2011.
During this workshop we got participants from overall Gujarat region like Netrang, Kutiana, Bhavnagar, Morvi and Rajkot.
Schedule of 3 days went very much successfully and informative for all the participants. At GACS we always try our level best to provide maximum information about Designing, Offset Printing, Screen Printing and all possible printing processes.

Day 1st: 


Morning session:

Adobe Indesign was the subject, Mr. Pankaj Paun - Head of Dept. GACS - provided complete information about this software and taught each and every menu/options. Participants were very much impressed by learning such a nice tricks and tips for multicolor designing with Adobe Indesign. They also taught about the importance of designing for any printing process.












Mr. Kamlesh Dhamelia - Technical head of Gallantic Print Machine Pvt. Ltd., provided valuable information about how to get better quality printing with small offset machines. He describes benefit of small machine and also gave some important tips about how to save time and material while printing.













 











Afternoon session:

Participants visited Gujarat Printers - Rajkot to see 4 color printing process on 19" x 25" Komori Offset machine, where they leaned about conventional plate making process (including pasting of positives), and after that they  review each and every process of 4 color Printing Process like plate clamping, plate setting, ink setting, registration adjustment etc. 


Participants said that they never thought that their jobs being printed with this much of accuracy and they feel that it requires lots of skill and concentration to print multicolor jobs. They thanked GACS to show whole process thoroughly with explanation.



























Day 2:
Morning session:
This was a first session of it's kind, when Mr. Sandesh Tere from Universal Technologies, Mumbai, visited as a Guest Lecturer for Screen Printing Process.




  Mr. Sandesh provided very detailed and technical information with the help of power point presentation.
They discussed following topics:

    * History of Screen Printing
    * Principles of Screen Printing
    * Kinds of Frame
    * Mesh used in Screen Printing
    * Study requirement before you buy Mesh
    * Ink Volume
    * Fabric Tensioning
    * Emulsion Coating
    * Frame Drying / Exposing

Mr. Sandesh added and informed participants about current market, usage and value of Screen Printing. He added that Screen Printing Process has no alteration, so this process can never die, it always have it's own place in the market, if you believe this you can have good business in Screen Printing Market.
They asked current screen printers to update their process and use UV inks and other chemicals which can help them to offer best results and best price.


Afternoon session:

In this session participants visited to Gujarat Grafik Pvt. Ltd., where they review Live Printing of Screen Printing with UV ink and UV curing (40" wide). 
They also printed some copies themselves and experienced that it is very easy process and result is awesome.



















They also review 4 color printing process on Mitsubishi Offset Machine (28" x 40"), and also checked different samples printed on different kind of materials such as NT, Plastic, Non-woven, Foam Sheet and thick Duplexes, they committed that as a designer and offset printers they never thought that such material can also print with Offset Machine, it was very impressive visit for them.

Day 3:
Morning session:
All participants eagerly waiting for this session, Color Correction Technique in Photoshop. Session was taken by Creative Head of SA Graphic and Mentor of GACS - Mr. Vishal Ambasana.













In this session they taught about following topics:


    * Basic Rule of Color Theory
    * To create Color
    * Use of Color Correction Tools in Photoshop
    * How to manage colors
 

    * How to achieve exact colors as per monitor
    * Use of Hue/Saturation in Photoshop











Participants also got information about Different kind of Paper size and material. With the help of such information they can decide which job to print with which paper and what will be the cost?









Afternoon session:
Participants visited biggest Rotogravure Printing Machine manufacturing unit - Pelican Rotoflexo Pvt. Ltd. Where they given complete details about Printing Process of Rotogravure and Flexo, they also checked all the printed samples.































On last day each participant awarded with a "Certificate" of training.























In 3 days workshop participants got very useful information.
